Some like to say about some relationships, "Opposites attract." Not in the realm of the spirit! Opposites do not attract where God is concerned. There never is a thin line or any correlation between pride and humility. They are like opposite poles of a magnet, they repel and reject each other. Have you ever noticed this about God, that there never are any gray areas with Him? It is light or darkness, truth or lies, sin or righteousness. When He made humans there weren't any maybes. He made them male and female, and there was never any doubt which one was which. Why is it like that with God? With Him there are no gray areas or half-truths. It either is or it isn't. It’s life or death, a blessing or a curse, and the lines are never blurred in Scripture. Let's get this truth about God and His Word. There are never people on the fence with Him. You are either cold or hot, but not both. The lukewarm (the "both") get vomited out. You cannot be both righteous and unrighteous, and you can't serve the devil and God at the same time. The Scripture states this truth so clearly that it takes the religiously brainwashed and the God-haters to disbelieve it. Hear the message. It will be a big help.

"I am a proud parent... I am a proud veteran... I come from a proud heritage... I am proud to be an American... a Hispanic... an Italian... a European, etc. and etc!!!! Pride, pride, pride! It has saturated our language and thinking to the point that most believe it's good to be proud of our achievements, successes, or even our pains, persecutions, and sufferings. Yet, pride is of the the devil, and it will ALWAYS get God's opposition (1 Peter 5:5, James 4:6). We need to renew our minds with the Word and begin to think, believe, speak, and act differently as Christians. We must practice humility and reject pride in all its forms. I trust this message will help.

Here's a question of great importance since God resists the proud (1 Peter 5:5): How do you identify pride? You may have heard the saying often used about strategy in war: "Know your enemy." Let no one deceive you. We are at war, because if we are not, then we don't need armor! (Ephesians 6:10-17) Pride is our enemy warring against us to keep us out of God's grace (favor, gifts, anointings, goodness, presence). That is not what we desire at all! As Andrew Murray taught, "Pride must die in you, or nothing of heaven can live in you." How are you going to "kill" pride if you can't identify it? You must know your enemy so you can defeat him.

We do not want to participate in pride's consequences! It's a whole lot better to repent and be cleansed from the sin of pride. God resists the proud, and that means IN EVERYTHING. God GIVES grace to the humble, and that means ALL THE TIME. Be prepared to be confronted with Scripture and on to the road of those that humble themselves before the Lord and reap the benefits.

The great preacher and author, Andrew Murray, wote: “Pride must die in you, or nothing of heaven can live in you.” God resists the proud! Nothing could be worse than being resisted by God, yet many talk about their pride as though it were something good or normal. In this continuing series, we examine the Scripture to see what pride is, where it comes from, and how to get rid of it. Pride is pervasive in society, among religious folks, and in the workplace. Because it is so common, believers need to be vigilant and take a stand in the spirit against pride. Of course, we are not to point the finger at the pride in others because that is not our responsibility. We must be on the lookout for it in our own lives and strongly oppose it. Again, God resists the proud, but He gives grace to the humble (1Peter 5:5). What side of that verse do you want? I’ll take the grace! How about you? I’m sure you also want the grace, so humility is the ONLY way to go.
