The sacrifice of Jesus was all-inclusive, and NOTHING was left out. Jesus suffered spiritually, mentally, physically, and in every other realm for three days and three nights. It was not only on the cross. The cross was a part of His sacrifice (and it represents the whole) but it was not the end. The end did not come UNTIL the three days and nights were completed, AFTER He was physically raised from the dead, and AFTER He ascended and took His blood into the Holy of Holies in Heaven.
Peter taught these neglected truths in the very first message preached after the Holy Spirit fell on the day of Pentecost. The Holy Spirit thought these truths of the physical AND spiritual sufferings of Christ to be so indispensible and fundamental that He made them a part of the inauguration-GOSPEL-message in Acts 2. Wow!
This is the greatest story in the Bible and it is one only partially told in churches. Few churches have emphasized the spiritual sufferings of Christ and His descent into Hades, together with the physical torment He endured on the cross. A great part of the sacrifice of Jesus has been left out of most preaching. During Easter services, the spiritual sufferings of Christ are mostly ignored. Yet, the spiritual side is clearly attested in Scripture.

Download the free book that was the basis for most of this study, “The Story of our Great Redemption: Beyond Human Imagination!” That's the link to get the free 194-page book. I've published five different versions on this subject since 1977. The latest 2013 version in Spanish,“Tres Días y Tres Noches en el Corazón de la Tierra” is 290 pages long. That is the most complete version I have published. In its pages are many of the extra things I brought out in these podcasts that were not in previous versions. Get the free "Tres Días..." PDF here. Glory to God!
